-
- UPGRADERS should especially note those items which have the
- words "UPGRADERS:". These notes indicate a particular action
- that you need to take to take advantage of new features
- available in the new version.
-
-
- Version 2.1c 4 November 1999
- * [Win32][Linux] Fixed: LOGTIME would fail to
- display the raw log entries of the last day if you
- chose to view a specific period (rather than the
- whole log). Don't worry: your log was actually
- recorded properly and the computation of your
- costs was not affected - this bug only affected you
- when you tried to view the raw entries in your log
- file using a range of dates.
- * [Linux] Fixed: LOGTIME would fail to delete
- the log entries of the last day of a period that
- you specified with -d on the command line.
- * [Win32] Fixed: if you lose a connection while
- monitoring using the RAS method, and immediately
- reconnect, LOGTIME may sometimes fail to detect that
- there was any break in connection (ie, it might
- think that you had been continuously connected).
- * [Win32] Updated/added some ISP configuration
- (import) files.
- * [Win32][Linux] New: Added the LOGTIME FAQ to
- the distribution files.
- * [Win32] Updated: minor documentation updates.
-
-
- Version 2.1b 11 June 1999
- * [Win32] New: LOGTIME can now check if Windows crashed
- during an online session and fix your log file accordingly
- * [Win32] New: You can now right click on the LOGTIME
- icon in the system tray to get a context menu of some
- commonly used items.
- * [Win32] New: If your ISP provides a callback service,
- you can now configure Logtime to monitor incoming calls
- under the Telephony method of monitoring.
- UPGRADERS: If this applies to you, check out the
- Options | Monitor | Configure, "Monitor Telephony
- Connections" dialog box (click the Help button for
- more information).
- * [Win32] Changed: if you have never configured LOGTIME
- before (such as for a new user to LOGTIME), LOGTIME will
- now use the RAS method of monitoring for connections by
- default. Don't worry, upgraders will have their settings
- preserved and respected. This applies only to new users.
- * [Win32] Updated: added/updated ISP configuration files
- * [Win32] Fixed: if ESC was pressed in 2.1a's main dialog
- window, and you were not monitoring the line, the LOGTIME
- window disappeared from view, but it was actually still
- running in the background. It was not a problem if you
- were monitoring and LOGTIME was in the system tray, since
- you could easily just open the window again.
- * [NT] Fixed: You should be able to configure LOGTIME to
- automatically start up everytime you log in now. Thanks
- to Wijbren Frankema for his help in tracking down the bug.
- * [Win32] Fixed: other minor bugs.
-
-
- Version 2.1a 17 January 1999
-
- * [Win32][Linux] You can now elect to view the raw log
- entries for a particular ISP only (instead of having to
- always view the entries for all the ISPs).
- (Note for Linux users - this means that the -w option
- has an additional sub-option for you to specify the ISP.)
- * [Win32] You can now completely hide the LOGTIME icon when
- monitoring (if you like).
- * [Win32] Added import files.
- * [Win32] Fixed: no longer restricts the minimum charge and
- the connection charge in the options dialog box to 2 decimal
- places. This was a fault of the user interface code - LOGTIME
- handles multiple decimal places in its internal computation.
- * [Win32] Fixed: minor online documentation fixes and updates.
- * [Win32][Linux] Other minor fixes and changes.
-
-
- Version 2.1 14 December 1998
-
- There are lots of new features in this version of Logtime.
- Here are the some of the changes:
-
- 1. [Win32] LOGTIME is now able to automatically detect which
- of your ISPs you have connected to, even if you have multiple
- ISPs defined.
-
- It is also able to log the connection only after
- your password has been authenticated!
-
- This is a new method of detecting connections (the other
- method is still available), so if LOGTIME was previously
- unable to detect your connections because you did not
- connect over a modem line, it might be able to do so now.
-
- UPGRADERS: Check it out in Options|Monitor now.
-
- 2. [Win32][Linux] LOGTIME now supports a new rounding option.
- You can now elect for LOGTIME to round up only after
- accumulating all the connection time for the month/week,
- instead of rounding after each session.
-
- UPGRADERS: Check if this reflects your ISP/Phone method of
- calculation more accurately. If so, you should modify your
- existing ISP/Phone configurations accordingly.
-
- 3. [Win32][Linux] You can now get a breakdown of your calls
- (login and logout times) and save them or print them out.
-
- 4. [Win32] You can save your overall usage log to a text file
- now. (Linux users could always do this).
-
- 5. [Win32][Linux] You now have greater flexibility in deleting
- old log entries - you can specify a range of dates for which
- the entries are to be deleted, and you can specify a
- particular ISP or all the ISPs.
-
- 6. [Win32][Linux] The usage report is now more informative: it
- computes for you the amount payable to your ISP including your
- fixed monthly/weekly fee, it also displays the amount of prepaid
- time you have outstanding.
-
- UPGRADERS: [Win32] Go to Options|ISP|Edit and enter your
- monthly/weekly fee to take advantage of this new facility.
-
- UPGRADERS: [Linux] The default is now to display everything
- in the usage report. You can, of course, suppress various
- elements of the report if you wish.
-
- 7. [Win32] You now have better visual feedback when
- automatically monitoring a connection. LOGTIME changes the
- colour of the system tray icon when there is a connection
- and gives you the amount of time you have online as well as
- the ISP that you are currently connected to.
-
- 8. Fixed bugs: (a) fixed overzealous complaints about the TAPI
- version when you had serial ports connected to anything other
- than mice and modems; (b) fixed problems using automatic
- detection when you have multiple ISPs; (c) fixed miscounting
- of number of connections in the display (don't worry, the
- computation of your costs was not affected); (d) fixed
- possible hanging under certain ISP configurations when a
- call crosses day boundaries; (e) fixed minor user interface
- glitch in the usage dialog box.
-
- 9. Removed: (a) the upgrading utility for users of version 1.21
- (I trust you have all upgraded); (b) removed time zone setting
- from logtime.ini; (c) removed the Windows 3.1 version of
- LOGTIME.
-
-
- Version 2.0c 11 July 1998
- - New: [Win32][Win16] You can now control the default date that
- is displayed in the dialog box that is invoked when the Previous
- button is pressed.
- - Fixed: [Win32][Win16] If you have multiple ISPs defined, the
- Connection Made dialog box used to log your time to the default
- ISP no matter what isp you have selected.
-
- Version 2.0b 16 June 1998
- - New: [Win32][Win16] -l command line option for the Win32 and Win16
- versions so that users who use script files to invoke LOGTIME can
- directly invoke LOGTIME to display the usage log.
- - New: [Win32] LOGTIME can now distinguish between an incoming and
- an outgoing call while monitoring the line.
- - New: [Win32] Made it easier to configure the line device by
- displaying the list of modems/line devices in the Monitor options
- page.
- - New: [Win32] Users can now copy their Win32 time zone setting
- to the LOGTIME General options page.
- - New: [Win32][Win16] You can now browse your disk drives for
- the WAV file you want in the Monitor options page instead of
- manually typing it in.
- - Fixed: [All] When displaying results for users with multiple ISPs,
- if the second (or later) ISP had monthly prepaid charges, it was
- not taken into account in calculating the net charges for the month.
- This was a bug in the display engines and does not affect your log
- files. Simply upgrade to this version and the results will be
- displayed correctly.
- - Fixed: [Win32][Win16] If you delete a time zone setting from
- the General options page, Logtime does not revert to its default
- behaviour in the current session. The default behaviour will
- only be used when you restart Logtime.
-
- Version 2.0a 4 June 1998
- "Import ISP or Phone" dialog box now allows you to replace
- an existing ISP.
- Added ability to "Import ISP or Phone" dialog box to respond
- to doubleclicks.
- Added Win16 version.
- Bug fix: file description not displayed when selection changes
- in "Import ISP" dialog box.
- Bug fix: the program sometimes loses track of which isp is
- currently selected in the ISP options page when a default isp
- is deleted.
- Other minor bug fixes.
- Documentation updates.
-
-
- Version 2.0 22 May 1998
- Now supports a wider range of options for configuring Logtime for
- different ISPs. Here is a selection of new features:
-
- - LOGTIME is now substantially faster. You will notice this most
- if you have not been using the caching facility of version 1.XX.
-
- - LOGTIME now supports ISPs that charge different rates for
- different periods of the day. Actually, version 1.21 already
- supported this, but it only supported two periods of the day.
- Version 2.XX supports multiple periods of the day with different
- charges (for those ISPs with more than 2 different charges).
-
- - LOGTIME now handles telephone connection charges and users who
- have more than one ISPs.
-
- - There is now support for ISPs that charge on a period other than
- the calendar month. In particular it supports ISPs that bill on a
- monthly basis but on a particular date within the month as well ISPs
- that bill on a weekly basis.
-
- - There is now support for prepaid charges ("free" connection time)
- that are computed on a daily basis. LOGTIME 1.21 only supported
- prepaid charges that were computed on a monthly basis.
-
- - LOGTIME now supports ISPs and phone companies that impose a charge
- each time you make a connection as well as those that have a minimum
- charge each time you connect.
-
- - There is now a Windows 95 version of LOGTIME.
-
- - The Windows versions of LOGTIME (both the Windows 95 as well as
- the Windows 3.1) now support automatic detection of connections made
- (and dropped) on the modem.
-
- - The Linux version now gives the user a little more control over
- what gets printed in the report. There are also additional items
- that can be displayed in the report when appropriately enabled using
- the command line options.
-
-
- Version 1.21 10 October 1996
- Improved Windows user interface.
- Fixed bug in the Linux installation script.
-
-
- Version 1.20 18 August 1996
- Now supports units of time of any length up to 32,767.
- Improvements to user interface on Windows.
- Fixed bug in the Linux installation script.
- Fixed bug in saving of font size in Windows.
-
-
- Version 1.10 28 July 1996
- Added support for Linux ELF.
- Improvements to the user interface and documentation.
-
-
- Version 1.0 9 May 1996
- Initial release.
